35,038 people packed Wrigley Field to witness the first women’s sporting event to take place in the stadium in over 80 years. 35,038, a new NWSL attendance record set on Saturday night. A final result that wasn’t what we wanted, but the atmosphere showed the world that Chicago loves women’s sports. Now, the future awaits the Chicago Red Stars.

Chicago just saw Gotham score more than one goal for the first time this season, Rose Lavelle’s first start of the season, two USWNT players come off the bench while they were down by one, and a former club member in Ella Stevens score against them in the 90th minute for the win, but outside of that… The team played okay?
