In a double header at the historic Soldier Field in downtown Chicago with the Chicago Fire, the Stars played to a 2-2 draw against Seattle Reign.
Ludmila bagged her second brace of the season with two goals just over two minutes apart. With assists from Maitane and Sam Staab, Chicago has scored four of their 10 goals with season in the last two games, and scored more than one goal in two straight matches for the first time with season.
A late come back from Seattle in the last several minutes of the match soured the positivity of the first half. A tactical change seemed to cause the Stars to give up multiple goals late in a match yet again this season.

Sometimes a draw can feel like a win, other times it can feel like a draw. With how tough of a season it has been, a draw will always feel like a win because points are so rare, but it really felt like Chicago should've had this one, if not for some questionable refereeing and poor defensive positioning.
Ally Schle-Goal from 34.4 yards out. Absolute banger of a goal. "OH MY GOD" as Jill Loyden would say. Her celebration was also a nod to Chicago Cubs centerfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong's homer celebration and I didn't even realize it while recording this podcast. Such a cool connection though.
The club couldn't hold the lead, but a point is a point and we''ll move on soon, but first listen to LT and Liz rant about the refs, which we rarely do.

In their first match since the dismissal of Lorne Donaldson as head coach, the Chicago Stars have earned a point against one of the better teams in the league, Gotham FC.
An impressive defensive display against one of the best offenses in the league is what held Chicago to the end, but another poor attacking effort looms over the club’s future.
